RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Board Chair to execute an Agreement with Aspen Street Architects, Inc.,  exercising the contract option to extend the existing contract by one year.

background
DISCUSSION/SUMMARY:
In April of 2021, Administration determined that it was necessary to obtain a consultant to  provide professional architectural design and related services on an “as needed” basis to assist  with various capital improvement projects, and brought forward a contract with Aspen Street  Architects, Inc. That contract had an initial term which is set to expire in April of 2023, and has  an option to extend the contract for one additional year.  Aspen Street possesses the skills, expertise, and knowledge necessary to perform the services  required and additionally has direct access to other licensed professionals, including but not  limited to, structural, electrical, survey, construction engineers, and environmental consultants  that will be needed for various capital improvement projects.

FINANCING:
The total amount of this Agreement shall not exceed $100,000 for the three (3) year term of  April 13, 2021, through April 12, 2024. Necessary budget appropriations are included in the  Capital Improvement Projects FY 2022-23 budget (10401060) and shall be included in Capital  Improvement Projects FY 2023-24 budget.

ALTERNATIVES:
The Board may choose to do any of the following: A. Support the Department’s recommendation; B. Continue the item to another date for further consideration. This action is not  recommended unless the Board specifically requests additional information which  cannot be obtained during this meeting; or, C. Deny the request.
